It's too late to say Happy New Year, but we are happy about part two of our conversation with comedian and writer/producer of Impractical Jokers Mike Finoia! Mike takes JW and Skinny on a trip to Phish's New Year's Eve show from the Fleet Center in 1996. Mike chats with the dudes about his experience as a young fan, dancing his ass off in the fifth row, and how much Phish changed his musical journey. Stub Me Down Podcast is live on location! As the official podcast of Oktoberfest at The Vortex, JW and Skinny had the chance to talk to each of the bands in the lineup. The day kicked off, as any jamband festival should, with some good ole’ Grateful Dead. The Wharf Rats Live filled the opening frame, and Skinny spoke with Eric “Dawg” Metzman about their sound, channeling the Grateful Dead, and the difference between indoor and outdoor performances. Oktoberfest at The Vortex, a new outdoor venue in Catonsville, Maryland, included some rather talented fresh young acts, including Runner & Bobby, a four-piece from Chicago with an indie vibe. Not quite in the jamband realm, Runner & Bobby drew some improvisational inspiration from the other acts and filled a tough spot in between Neighbor and Dogs in a Pile.
