Finally, Skinny cuts the final episode! JW and Skinny take the long way to the end of the road and welcome in Colin and Matt, two of Skinny's former students, to talk about Goosemas! It took a long time to get here, but the conversation is great, and young people really know how to talk music! We will be back for Season 8 eventually, but give this a listen while you wait! Stub Me Down closes out the Annapolis Baygrass Festival on Sunday with several really fun conversations! John Bolten from Geraldine dropped by, JW chatted with artist-at-large Allie Kral, and Jesse from TopHouse shares in JW’s joy of dad jokes. Stub Me Down: Live on location! We hang out on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay for the 4th installment of the Annapolis Baygrass Festival, an excellent mix of blue and jam grass and headlined by one of the classic institutions in the music scene, Little Feat! Day one of the festival featured Fireside Collective, Shadowgrass, Jammy Buffet, Yonder Mountain String Band, and the aforementioned Little Feat. Our Saturday conversations include sit downs with Jesse Iaquinto (Fireside Collective), "Uncle Al” Alvin Lee (The Lee Boys), and Fred Tackett (Little Feat). Skinny is a little surprised by the angle on stats from this one while discovering how many songs should be expected in a window of shows. In what is more of a rarity these days, Skinny and JW settled into the OG format of Stub Me Down Podcast S7 E5, with JW pulling a stub from his first Phish show in 1998. An incredible setlist (that he knew nothing about in the moment) set the stage for an all-consuming and lifetime obsession. Skinny has heard these stories before, but supposedly did some research on a couple of tunes anyway! Perhaps this episode will bode well for a Phish return to Columbia, Maryland this summer. Mike takes JW and Skinny on a trip to Phish's New Year's Eve show from the Fleet Center in 1996. Mike chats with the dudes about his experience as a young fan, dancing his ass off in the fifth row, and how much Phish changed his musical journey.
